Connect Tracify's MCP server to ChatGPT

Connect Tracify to ChatGPT so you can ask questions about your analytics.

Before you start

  • A ChatGPT account with access to connect MCPs (available on paid plans).

  • A Tracify account with access to the organisation you want to connect.

The Tracify MCP server URL is:

https://mcp.tracify.ai/mcp

Step 1: Open Connectors in ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings.

  2. Under Integrations, select Plugins, then MCPs

You'll see your existing MCPs and their status.

Step 2: Connect to a custom MCP

  1. Click Add in the top right, then choose Add MCP Server.

  2. Choose type Streamable HTTP

  3. In the dialog, enter:

    • Name: Tracify

    • Remote MCP server URL: https://mcp.tracify.ai/mcp

  4. Leave everything else blank

  5. Click Save.

  6. You'll be redirected by to the Plugins page. Select MCPs again.

  7. Click Authenticate

Step 3: Authorize Tracify MCP

  1. A Tracify authorization page opens in a new tab: Authorize Tracify MCP. Review the details:

    • Client: Claude

    • Scope: tracify.analytics.read (read-only)

  2. Under Organisation, select the organisation you want Claude to access. The page lists the stores included in that organisation. Claude can only request data for stores and presets inside the selected organisation.

Step 4: Create an API token

The authorization form needs an organisation API token.

  1. Click Create token.

  2. In the Create API token dialog, choose a Validity period (for example, 30 days), then click Create token.

  3. A Copy API token dialog appears with the token. This is the only time the full token is shown, so copy it now if you want to keep a record. The token is also automatically copied into the authorization form for you.

  4. Note the expiry date shown (for example, "Valid until Aug 13, 2026"). You will need to reconnect after the token expires.

  5. Click Done.

You'll see a "Token created" confirmation, and the API token field on the authorization form is now filled.

Step 5: Finish authorization

  1. Click Authorize MCP for [your organisation].

  2. You're redirected back to a blank page with confirmation. You may close this window.

Step 6: Test the connection

Start a new chat and ask a question about your data. For example:

  • "Can you tell me what sites I have in my Tracify organization?"

  • "Tell me what my revenue was in June 2026 for [store]."

  • "Break my revenue for [month] down by channel."

Claude loads the Tracify tools, calls the integration, and returns the results (for example, a list of your stores with their IDs, or a revenue-by-channel table). If you see the data, the connection is working.

Note: Avoid requesting large amounts of data via MCP as you risk maxing out your usable context space.

Managing the connection

  • Reconnect: When the API token expires, open the MCP in Settings > Plugins > MCPs. Disconnect the server and connect again to create a new token.

  • Disconnect: Open the connector detail page and click Disconnect to remove ChatGPTs access.

Troubleshooting

  • "You are not connected to Tracify yet" persists: Make sure you completed the authorization in the Tracify tab and clicked Authorize MCP. Return to the MCP and set up again if needed.

  • ChatGPT doesn't use Tracify data: Explicitly tell ChatGPT to use it's MCP to get data.

  • No data for a store: The connection is limited to stores inside the organisation you authorized. Data for stores in other organisations is not included.

  • Connection stopped working after a while: The API token has an expiry. Reconnect to generate a new one.

Limitations

  • The connection is read-only. ChatGPT can retrieve data but it cannot modify anything in your Tracify account.

  • You can connect one organisation at a time via MCP.
