In order to track the performance of your Influencers with Tracify, you have to provide them with Tracking Links that Tracify automatically creates for you. For each Influencer Cooperation, you can create one or multiple Tracking Links and we also generate shortened URLs for you.

Prerequisites

  1. The Influencer who should be tracked is already added to Tracify

  2. A Cooperation with the Influencer that you want to create the Tracking Link for has been created

How to create Influencer Tracking Links

You can create Tracking Links via

  • creating a Cooperation and clicking the "Create & Generate Link" button

  • the Cooperations table view in the "Links" column by clicking "Create Link"

Both are opening the following input dialog.

Everywhere you need to take action or put in information is marked red.

1.) Make sure the correct Influencer and Cooperation are selected from the dropdown

2.) Name the Link you are creating (optional)

This can be useful if you would like to create multiple Links for a Cooperation.
Or to get a better understanding of where the Link is directing to.

3.) Copy + Paste the Target URL

This is the webpage/landing page to which the traffic from the Influencer cooperation/posting gets directed.

If an Influencer Link is assigned to a specific store, it means that it is only shown for the respective store and the cost is only allocated there. If you don’t choose a store, the cooperation is automatically assigned to all stores within the organisation.

Add Existing UTM Parameters (optional)

If you additionally use standard UTM parameters (e.g. utm_source=example), you can add them to this field. If you use multiple ones, make sure to connect them with "&".

4.) Put in a Discount Code (optional)

If your Influencer uses a Discount Code you can add it here.

☝️ Shopify only: Discount code redemptions are recorded in the Influencer Dashboard.

As soon as a user redeems the discount code associated to the tracking link of the influencer in the checkout, this redemption is registered and attributed to the influencer.

Please keep in mind that there is attribution going on in the background, so your conversion numbers can vary depending on which attribution settings you apply.

Shopify users:

Tracify tracks the code redemption of your customers when they redeem the code in your checkout and place an order. The redeemed discount codes are attributed to the respective influencer. The discount code put in this field doesn't get applied in the checkout automatically.

Other Shop Systems:

For other shop systems, we track code redemptions click-based and NOT by redemption of the Discount Code in your store. This means that if a user clicks on an influencer tracking URL, the code counts as redeemed, even if it has not been used.

Also, the discount code put in this field doesn't get applied in the checkout automatically.

5.) To finish the creation of the Link, click on "Create Link"

6.) Accessing your generated Tracking Link & Shortened URL

After the Tracking Link was successfully generated you see this message, where you can copy the link directly and provide it to your Influencer. You are also provided with a Shortened URL for your Influencer tracking to serve your social platform needs and avoid tracking problems with third-party shorteners.

From the Influencer and Cooperations table view column "Links" you can also access your Tracking Links by clicking on the number (1) for the respective Influencer/Cooperation and create additional links.

If a Cooperation has only one Tracking Link you can copy it via the quick action button (2). Hereby the shortened URL is copied automatically.

FAQ

What happens if a discount code is not redeemed instantly?

If a user does not click on an influencer link but later redeems the code. The Organic or Direct touchpoint that is closest to the purchase conversion is counted as an influencer touchpoint, as it can be assumed that this touchpoint was created on the basis of the influencer cooperation.

What happens if I provide the same influencer with the same discount code for multiple links?

If an influencer is credited with the same discount code for two cooperations (influencer links), the discount code redemption will always be credited to the last collaboration that took place (determined by the Cooperation Date).

☝️ Example:

Cooperation A on the 1st of August & Cooperation B on the 14th of August

All orders up to August 13 will be attributed to cooperation 1. Whereas all orders after the second cooperation on August 14th will be credited to the second cooperation.

Recommendation: Use one discount code per cooperation.

Happy Tracking! 👏
