Organic traffic

In general, organic is defined as users visiting your site from another page without any paid push marketing efforts from your end ("naturally earned"). That may be through

  • Organic search results / SEO results

  • Organic social media postings (i.e. Instagram stories, TikTok posts, etc.) that are driven by your content marketing

  • Word of mouth

  • Finding you on a discount portal or price comparison page

So if a user visits your shop via a source that is not considered a marketing channel from your side, Tracify considers it an organic touchpoint.

Organic touchpoints in customer acquisition in conjunction with paid channels are primarily assisting touchpoints to get a user over that finishing line to buy.

Direct traffic

Direct traffic is the amount of web traffic you receive from users who visit your website through a URL directly from their browsers. In other words with no source. Examples for such cases are:

  • User comes directly to the page via a bookmark or by entering the URL into the browser

  • Gets a link from a friend via text message

  • Gets an automatic suggestion from his browser (you type the name of the site and your browser automatically suggests you to visit the corresponding URL)
